Old Cracker Box boat

I can't remember where I saw this picture, but it sure has some
nice lines to it. Looks really nice in white too with the wood dash.
Appears to be undergoing a restoration of some sort..
I would say this is probably a 50's Cracker. I sure would like
to see more pictures of this one.
-- Send pics my ways if you know the boat - Thank you

Old Cracker or ???

know if this is an old cracker or not. Either way, it's a beautiful old
piece that could just be a gentlemans racer. A beauty!!

1948 Cracker Box boat

the name "Gohan Maru" with the big Flathead.
Retired in or around 1955 and sat in a barn ever since.
Recently discovered and restoration started ---
Boat is "100 percent complete"- except for the motor ~~~
*
*
RECENT DISCOVERY-- is that this boat ran with a '49 Merc Flathead.
More horsepower than a 59A block. Running a merc like this
boat meant you had the most powerful motor out there in the day.
Does anyone have any early racing pics from this time period?

"Gohan Maru" stood for the restaurant that the boat was built
for by the owner in '48. It means "Rice Bowl" and was located
in the Bakersfield area of southern Ca. The boat had 3 owners
and all 3 owners were friends of each other. I purchased the
boat from the 3rd owner who states that they were friends with
the orig owner in '48 when the boat was built. This is how we
know the boat is a 1948.
